Background Information
Hi! My name is Maya and I am a junior at Chapel Hill High School. I have lived in Chapel Hill for seven years now and I have been babysitting since I was 11 years old. Being a role model to younger children has always been something that is important to me and it inspired me to create this program.
During the development of Big Sis, I have gathered a group of high school girls to help plan and lead the program. Our goal is to create a supportive mentorship group for younger girls, specifically 3rd to 5th graders, where they can build confidence, develop friendships, and have positive role models. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where young girls can express themselves and feel supported!
